Instructions for Non-ODU Students
Not an ODU Student?  Please follow these special instructions when completing the on-line application. 
 
  1. Click the “Apply Now” button on the program of your choice.
  2. Select “No” to the question, “Are you currently a registered user at ODU?”
  3. If you have never applied for an ODU program online or requested login information from the site, select “No” to the question, “Have you received your login credentials already via email?”
  4. Complete all of the information on the “New User Form.”
    1. If you are affiliated with another university: In the “Choose Institution” section, please select your home university. If it is not listed, select the state and then “Other/Not found” to type in the name. If you are affiliated with ODU (part-time student, non-degree student, faculty, etc.), you should type in "Old Dominion" after selecting "Other/Not found."
    2. If you are NOT affiliated with another university: In the “Choose Institution” section, please select your state of residence and then “Other/Not found.” Please provide information about your current position and employer in the text box provided (for example, “Counselor, Norfolk Public Schools”).
  5. Once you click “Create Account” at the bottom of the form, your temporary login credentials will be emailed to you. The temporary password must be used within 24 hours. Once you login for the first time, you should set your own password.
  6. In the email that arrives with your login credentials, you should follow the link for “General non-login” rather than “Users.”
  7. Once you login, you will be asked a couple of questions.
    1. For GPA: if you are not a student, please put 0.0 as your current GPA
    2. For Academic Advisor: please type “n/a”
  8. When you return to http://odu.studioabroad.com directly, you may login via the “NON-ODU LOGIN/REGISTER” link in the upper-right corner of the page. If you forget your password, please click the “Forgot your password?” link.
